Trails Foreman

Primary responsibilities:

  • Develop and schedule work plans
  • Execute field operations for the trails and wilderness program
  • Construct and maintain trails
  • Operate and maintain trailers, skid steer, and tools
  • Work closely with volunteer groups and partner organisations to complete projects
  • Use of GIS/GPS to record in databases of record for trails and wilderness
  • Required certifications: B Sawyer (chainsaw and crosscut) valid driver license, ability to contain Forest Protection Officer (FPO)

Recreation Technicians

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement daily operations and  maintenance of developed and dispersed recreation sites
  • Repair damaged facilities
  • Inspects for hazards and reports conditions to District Ranger or Recreation Staff
  • Inspect for compliance with permit and management plans, as well as public health and safety
  • Safety hazard analyses of public recreation use areas
  • Serves as unit fee collection officer
  • Interacts with forest visitors and provides information
  • Serves as forest protection officer
