Audubon Summer Educator in Santa Fe

Audubon New Mexico is looking to hire a short-term contract educator to deliver a series of 1-week summer programs in Santa Fe. This position is in conjunction with the City of Santa Fe’s summer youth program. Each week-long session includes 4 onsite programs at the school, and one offsite field trip to the Randall Davey Audubon Center.  Interested parties should contact Education Manager, Katie Weeks (kweeks@audubon.org), ASAP, for immediate consideration. 

Interested educators will be teaching pre-created lessons to groups of 3rd and 4th graders. Educators will be accompanied by camp counselors, but should still be comfortable with group management. Curriculum covers introductions to habitats and NM ecosystems with strong literacy components.

Contract Details

4 in-school programs (9am-12pm) each session

1 field trip to the Randall Davey Audubon Center each session

Session 1: July 2-6 (not 4th or 5th), from 8:30-12:00 each day

Session 2: July 9-13, from 8:30-12:00 each day

Session 3: July 16-20 from 8:30-12:00 each day

The contract will total 80 hours, at $13 per hour, for a maximum reimbursement of $1000. Total hours includes 3-6 hours of training the week of June 25th.
