This position’s primary focus is working on projects related to the development of scientifically defensible water quality criteria and designated uses for the State’s surface water quality standards. The development of these standards includes but is not limited to the review and evaluation of complex scientific studies and environmental data supporting any proposed changes to the Water Quality Standards; knowledge and application of ecological and hydrologic models; evaluating published studies for supporting evidence on proposed water quality standards; providing comment on a variety of technical proposals; conducting outreach on technical aspects of proposed water quality issues; applying various federal and state acts and regulations; preparing technical testimony for hearings before the Water Quality Control Commission.
