This position will be responsible for writing and managing discharge permits for domestic and industrial waste facilities for the purpose of protecting ground water quality pursuant to 20.6.2 NMAC. Permitted facilities include municipal wastewater treatment plants, reclaimed wastewater reuse systems, federal facilities, power plants, ground water remediation systems, vehicle washes, and manufacturing operations. This position will review applications, draft permits, inspect facilities, evaluate compliance, respond to spills at regulated and unregulated sites, oversee corrective actions and abatement, prepare testimony and serve as an expert witness regarding water quality issues related to discharge permits.
This position is a Pay Band 75, with an annual salary of $39,686 – $69, 035.
